Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC).
We recently worked with the JNCC on a research project to provide information on the feeding places used by terns nesting on Coquet Island.
This is what they had to say.....

We were nervous when we started our research project on the feeding places used by terns nesting on Coquet Island, because we’d never done anything like this before. It meant following these seabirds everywhere they went, and I mean everywhere. Sometimes this meant along beaches, others went across shallow reefs, and one even went almost as far as the Tyne. Often they did this at speeds of 35 knots and sometimes when the weather or tide whipped up the sea; not once did I hear a complaint from Graeme. We amassed huge amounts of information and became the first people ever to track the feeding flights of Arctic terns and the endangered roseate terns. And it’s been fun too. The difference between success and failure of a project often comes down to the people you pick, although having the right equipment helps too. Our project has been a resounding success, and Graeme, Thomas and Moby helped to make all the difference. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
